re: #107 Targetpractice

Think what made Vader so effective a villain was the mystery behind him, who Anakin Skywalker was before his fall. The original trilogy built him up as one of the most powerful Jedi ever, a great and honorable man. Then Lucas seemed to decide decades later “Kids want a whiny, angsty protagonist! We’ll turn the most badass villain ever into an emokid!”

The SW Prequels are the worst steaming piles of Bantha poodoo to ever hit the screen. In short, a warning of what happens when Lucas surrounds himself with timid Yes-Men and isn’t challenged by creative people who will point out when something is stupid or makes no sense. That happened in the original trilogy and it was epic (even ROTJ). It was absent in the prequels and just see what happened.
