What I don’t get about the threats that people would rebel if Trump was held to account: these are the same people who barely attend his rallies, didn’t attend his inauguration, and apparently are having to be prodded to show up and vote. And none of these actions involve any risk to life or limb. If people really felt that way about Trump, there’s no apparent move to save him by anyone other than Trump himself. To think that other than some randos are going to risk being shot or going to jail for Trump is ridiculous.

And even if they did, nothing would restore Trump anyway once he’s out. There’s no mechanism to put him back in if he is impeached or resigns.

It’s the last resort of a bad relationship-“I’ll make you sorry you dumped me” translated in political terms. And just like that, America-and the dumper-move one with life.

It will look more like a white Al Qaeda not swarms of folks organizing a seige on a city. Lots of lone wolfs, stochastic terrorism, increased abuse of institutions that are already primed. Lots of people will not be at risk and will think everything is just fine when it’s really not.

The rest of your inquiries are based on logic so we can go ahead and skip those cause we both know who we’re dealing with.
