re: #102 Teddy’s Person
Intellectual shallowness reigns the Internet. There are people that want the feeling of being “smart” by reciting a pat answer, and who can’t distinguish verisimilitude achieved by rhetoric…mostly particularly the usage of emotional language and fallacy…from veracity. It’s a type so specific that I’d propose it’s a continuation of the Engineer’s Fallacy.
It’s Dunning-Kruger Plus.
Ben Shapiro is smart in one specific way—he is good at using language to manipulate an audience. A person who views knowledge as a power dynamic, and thus has an emotional stake in being “smart” is a great mark for Shapiro’s style.
