if desantis wins, he’s got the base and the votes
he gets nothing from pardoning trump, and it probably ends up hurting him and the party a lot

there is zero payoff, absolutely no upside in pardoning spy45 for any R who has won the presidency

It’s a cult; the outrage from the base if President DeSantis allows the Deep State to imprison Trump after they framed him would be overwhelming, and he can spin it as a necessary step to “allow the nation to heal.”
