A second trial won’t happen. The tenor has been set for this incident and the defendant.

That’s my fear. I think the best we can hope for is that he gets some time on all the charges, although the trend is to make them all concurrent these days. He could be out in a few years since he doesn’t have a real criminal record. Or just receive probation—yeah, that could happen, too.

Of course, white defendant in a case involving the death of a black youth. He’ll be out in 5 and will then make back the money spent on this trial by selling a book.
