Somehow they missed Charles break with the right. It’s just dated I think. When I bring it up i describe it as centrist with a left lean. On certain topics more lefty than others, for example I think if you polled Obamas approval rating here he would do better than the national average by quite a bit.

But those things pendulum. A web sites audience evolves over time as does the owner or the managers. What I really like is the nature of how to do well here as a contributor. You gotta keep your brain in the game. Flaming arguments happen but are rare and frowned upon. Or worse. People here take a great delight in debunking bad facts or misleading imagery. Or unsupported assertions. Do those things right as above and you can be at odds with quite a few opinions here and still do fine.

I still consider myself a conservative in the sense that the government should be concerned about unintended consequences of governmental action, etc. But the GOP isn’t conservative and hasn’t been for a long time, it’s reactionary.
