sanders is too far to the left to have much of a chance even if he could get past Hillary. Maybe against Ted Cruz he’d have a shot, but Rand Paul has enough libertarian-populist positions to undercut Sanders badly. Marco Rubio or Jed Bush would walk to victory against Sanders.

Now that would be an interesting election: Cruz v. Sanders. I’m not sure whether the end result would be optimal, but it would be more fun to follow than Clinton v. Bush.
