I credit Ta-Nehisi Coates for laying out how racist the New Deal was.

What amazes me is the physical infrastructure component…fucking over AA communities by transforming the physical spaces that they had investing time and capital into turning into neighborhoods. Where do you zone the pollution-spewing factories? Where do you put the highway exit versus the overpass?

Then again, I keep getting poleaxed by new versions of ethnic minority profits, white people conspire to take their shit away and the government either helps or turns a blind idea. The Tulsa race riots and the destruction of Black Wall Street; the theft of the very valuable farm businesses developed by West Cost Japanese-Americans during WW2 internment; the fricking murder conspiracy to strip the Osage of their oil profits.

What frustrates me Re: New Deal is many white progressives don’t see that while denouncing people like Obama as sell outs. God knows I have my criticism of Wall Street but Roosevelt was okay with working with people who supported legalized lynching.
