WTF is 1706?

I’m assuming he doesn’t mean 1706 CE, because I’m pretty sure no public school teaches, nor does any the average American give a tinker’s damn, about the War of Spanish Succession.

It’s in New Mexico (Handsome there has the Zia sun tattoo on his left cheek: the state symbol) - so maybe the foundation of Albuquerque?
