I think Bush for all his faults wasn’t a racist. Perhaps not the best at understanding but I think GW Bush wasn’t an out and out bigot when it came to people of other races. OTOH, I do thikn he was more than happy to take advantage of the GOP’s homophobia.

The only aspects of GWB I appreciated were his views on dealing with Moslems and Islam (although he really bungled things by initially referring to the “Crusade Against Terror”) and his plans for comprehensive immigration reform (which his own party rejected)
