Hillary Clinton has been the target of possibly the longest and most intense campaign of hate and vilification ever directed at a public figure in this country. Yet she will probably be elected President in November. This will be an absolute, unmitigated catastrophe for the right wing as we know and loathe it, and a resounding repudiation of their claims, their credibility, and their values. Will it be an extinction level event for them? Probably not (though we can always hope). Their grift will continue as long as there are marks to be fleeced, but they may well cease to be a serious factor in national politics.
