I don’t use the other. Ever. When I was in first grade, I came home and referred to the kids from the special ed classes as ‘the retardos’, because that’s what the other kids called them.

My mother DEALT with that.

I called her worse than idiot! But I never called her a retard.

Ok… so my hubby and I were having a terrible fight and he wanted to call me me a sack of shit. But he just said, “You’re a sack….” and stopped himself. And then it was just quite funny. So now we call each other sacks.

We retold this to the s-i-l. One evening, we were a bit liquored up and she started yelling at her brother. She wanted to call him a Sack, but forgot the word and instead called him a Bag. We got a lot of mileage out of that too.
