The existing drive is a different size (320GB), so I can’t clone it. Creating/restoring backups in Windows takes forever, but then having to reinstall Windows and all my apps could take a week… *shudder*

with something like acronis trueimage you can clone a smaller partition onto a larger one. newegg.com was recently running a special where you could get a copy for $19.99 not sure if they still have that deal.
