It’s not an excuse for their behavior. I’m pretty sure Edwards is going to jail unless his lawyers can find some loophole or technicality. As far as he goes, I don’t think the feds usually indict unless they’re pretty certain about their case.

Weiner doesn’t seem nearly egregious, but who knows. Edwards has lost every bit of credibility he ever had. Cheating on your dying wife doesn’t play well…. Weiner may survive his crisis.
