re: #106 talon_262

I really hate to generalize but, being somewhat lower-middle-class and a person that patronizes WalMart quite a bit, there’s a reason for websites such as People of WalMart. More than any other retailer I go to, there’s always plenty of low-brow, low-class fail going on at a WalMart somewhere, usually late at night.

People have brought this up, and I suppose it’s a possible contributing factor. In my limited experience of Wal-Mart, I haven’t seen that the clientele look wildly lower-brow than people in most big box stores. (I have seen ‘People of Wal-Mart’, but most of those folks are just dressed like lunatics, which in and of itself doesn’t cause rioting.)

I guess I’m open-minded, but skeptical of the idea that there’s a critical mass of out-of-control underclass shoppers that hit the Wal-Mart Black Friday sales, but NOT the K-Mart ones. I do, however, have no problem believing that Wal-Mart’s notorious committment to sales may override good safety practices. GGT was also saying last night that she thinks the Wal-Mart store layouts are inherently less manageable in a situation like this.

Just my guesses, I may be wrong.
