re: #131 Blind Frog Belly White
Why? And why do so many Dems feel like this is something that they should say?
I mean, lots of folks weren’t tickled with Al Gore, or Michael Dukakis, John Kerry, or for that matter Bill Clinton or Barack Obama. But nobody ever says, “I voted for John Kerry, but I’ve never liked him”.
Why is that even an issue?
That’s the thing that sticks with me to this day, the idea that electing a president is about likability. Especially when one of the most common complaints among the “serious” class is that the election has lower turnout than American Idol and campaigns spend too much effort trying to make candidates out to be “regular people.”
