re: #110 Ace Rothstein
I’m in line to vote in The Woodlands. One red hat (without a mask) asked me if I wanted a Republican voting guide. I said FUCK NO! and my line laughed out loud. Then another red hat offered me water and I said I don’t like drinking brain-eating amoebas.
Voted yesterday in far North Dallas. Just a few observations while waiting in the 45-minute queue:
There was a distinct disconnect between the election signage surrounding the polling place (which was massively over-represented by Republicans - at least a 10:1 ratio) and those people in line - who I would classify as “Leans Democratic”, due to the number of women and people of color waiting in line.
Of course, there was the one MAGAt who showed up wearing a Donald Trump shirt emblazoned with a rather racist antithesis to the “Black Lives Matter” slogan, red MAGA baseball cap, and no mask until he got right up to the building. Unfortunately, the poll-workers there let him thru.
I could write a whole other section on the new voting machines they have at the place I voted - very upper-middle class neighborhood, and how superior they are to the ones that are used in less-wealthy (and less white) parts of town.
