Didn’t Obama, by stating that the Cambridge police officer acted “stupidly”, without knowing all the facts, imply that the arrest had a racial basis? What would be the difference if Obama came out and said police acted stupidly when they arrested O.J. Simpson (which time makes no difference.)

It seems that his gut reaction, unscripted and without being poll-tested, was to immediately side with the unfounded accusations of his friend, rather than ackowledge the possiblibity (and what now seems beyond cavil) that race had no place in this incident, until the “illustrious” Prof. Gates made it one. How is that not racist?
