Yeah my family naturalized pretty quickly. Honestly, people who like to yammer about how their grandparents did this and that have no idea how much easier it was for them to be naturalized.

My mom’s dad entered the USA in 1896, and was naturalized by the 1940 census, if not earlier. Her mom died young, and probably never got her citizenship.

America’s borders were very porous until very recently. It doesn’t seem to have hurt us none.
