I don’t know. The only things I can think of off hand are a) his right to privacy and b) freedom of association. Of course that can change when one is employed by a private employer. Do we expect and should we expect journalists to be apolitical?

Journalists are people too. My preference is for objective reporting first and foremost. That said, they should be able to donate their time and money as they see fit. So do I expect them to be apolitical? No. Should I? I don’t know if that’s realistic.
