Why does every Representative have to be pro-life for the right to be happy, anyway? They can’t affect Roe. They aren’t state representatives. Why the hell is it so important?

Partially intellectual dishonesty. One of the candidates for City Attorney here last year made a big deal about being anti-illegal immigration. That’s almost as asinine as electing school-board members based on their opinion about the Designated Hitter.

Another reason is, though they cant outright ban abortion with simple legislation they can:

A) Propose a constitutional amendment doing so, which will overturn Roe.
B) Slowly chip away at abortion in various ways such as ‘Partial Birth’ legislation and the like.
C) If they are like-minded to them on abortion, they believe that they probably agree with them in other areas.
