I would just like to say that despite all the religionist insanity over a (gasp!) mosque on “holy ground”, I would still very much like to know where the cash money for the building purchase came from.

We’re talking millions of dollars ($6.5 million, give or take, if memory serves), and given the locale of the project, that sounds like a cut-rate price to me.

Is it awfully un-PC of me to wonder where the funds came from?
