The regular people of Afghanistan had little or nothing to do with 911. It is barely even ‘a nation state’ by most standards. Read “The Places Inbetween.”
If anything it should have been Saudi Arabia.
But of course, none of this reasoning has anything to do with how we reacted after 911.
