re: #116 Lidane

OT, but what’s the rule about following up on job interviews? I did an online interview last Tuesday and have a thank you note for the manager that sent me the invite to interview in the first place, but I’m not sure if I should send it.

The interview notice said that I had 72 hours to do the interview and that I’d hear back 2-3 days after they got my interview back. By that timetable, I should have heard back last Friday. Would I be out of line just sending a generic “thanks for the opportunity, looking forward to hearing back” note?

When you have an interview, get the names of each person you spoke to (get their business cards if they have one) and send a thank-you to each one. You can write one email and send it to all of them. The sooner after the interview, the better.

Mention some things that you talked about and why you are excited to have this opportunity.
