The “good guy with a gun” narrative is just part of the fantasy that is gun ownership to many of the gun humpers. They love the thought of being a part of an active shooting situation so they can pull out their trusty red rider and single handily save the day. It is part of owning a gun to them so they have to throw it out there any chance they get. Only they and their gun of choice can truly save us from the evils of the world.
