re: #135 Decatur Deb
Senators do not vote for a SC nominee. The President names his choice and they advise and consent (or not).
One change I would like to see is if the Senate refuses to vote on confirmation at all and pulls a McConnell, it should be considered that the Senate is waiving Advice and Consent and the pick advances to the court. Not sure if that can be done via legislation or if it requires a Constitutional amendment though. I haven’t looked at the wording but I know a lot about the Supreme Court in the Constitution amounted to “Let Congress fill in the blanks”.
