It’s a defamation suit, so it’s not criminal, but still. You don’t want to piss off the judge in ANY case, criminal or civil, and especially when the facts are stacked pretty solidly against you.

there IS a point in a civil case where the judge can just sanction by determining one side wins, right? Didn’t that basically happen to Alex Jones for being unresponsive to requests for discovery?
