I’d suggest you think about reading Why The Allies Won sometime.

Hitler tried to be both at the same time, being both the tactical commander in the field and the strategic person who called the tune that the entire army/nation would dance to and the German Military was worse of for it.

(Not comparing the General to Hitler obviously, I’m just saying even with the better communications gear we have today, it’s still probably over reaching to think the same man can lead a country on one side of the globe, and fight a war on the other….)
