Criminal uses gun show loophole to get gun. Uses it to kill people. Gun nut argues that he didn’t get the gun legally, but used the loophole. Gun nut is also against closing the loophole because he thinks it’s rarely used by criminals to acquire guns illegally. You can’t make this shit up.

But assuming the murder weapon is the gun Roof was given by his father, then the law was broken at that point, assuming the father knew his son had been charged criminally (which I’m assuming he would). And the father did pass a background check. The violation of the law would only have been detected had police searched Roof’s room or his car while the gun was there or had they found it on his person when he was arrested that second time.

Assuming Roof Sr. knew of his son’s indictment, then he should be charged with buying a firearm for a prohibited person.
