re: #125 Joe Bacon 🌹

Memories of Mom’s food…she made incredible lasagna almost a dozen layers thick and it smelled so seductive!

I don’t remember the details, but my parents got a vertical freezer from some friends with the idea that they would by big cuts of meat for cheap during the financial issues of the mid to late 70s. Anyway, that didn’t happen, but every year we had a family reunion on my great-aunt’s farm with about 120 in attendance. My mom would prepare something like 10-12 lasagnas and put them in the freezer before we went. These were heated for the Sunday after-church last picnic meal. I think you can actually read about my family’s reunions and our scholarship fund in the NYT.
