Exactly. From contacts that I have regarding the R’ Congressional leadership - there almost seems to be an institutional fear related to leading. It’s as if they are unwilling to step up and define a cogent, number-based, alternative to that of the Administration because they don’t want to get slapped by media or die via a thousand cuts of those they may disgruntle or fail to appease.

If all of this was projected as a parody of the emptiness of the Obama campaign - hope and change without detail, then perhaps one can see this as less juvenile than it was - but the saddest part is that the leadership was perfectly comfortable to announce an alternative of nothing to contrast Obama’s budget.

What can we say, the leaders without balls or brains brought us a budget without numbers.
