I know what you mean. I’ve had to do a little bit of research on Baatan at work(We have a big issue coming out about 1942) and it’s just horrifying.The guys who survived Japanese captivity had to be some of the toughest and no disrespect luckiest guys but not only did they have to deal with brutality but also the elements.

What the Japanese did to the Chinese was even worse.

We had a family friend (recently deceased) who survived Baatan and was also POW in China. His family has done tons of research in to the Pacific side of the war. My FIL also served on the Pacific side and wouldn’t talk about it AT ALL.

What little I have learned is enough.
