Proves means it would have to be factual. Christmas as a religious holiday is not based on a lot of facts. It is, like religion itself based on faith. So, I would think someone like him would say “you just have to believe” as that works for everything else.

Of course there are all kinds of books involved. I guess that if it is written it must be a fact.

I read that the point of that film is to “prove” to everybody that the Christmas traditions - like the date or the tree - are grounded in the Bible, or something. Which is why I wonder about the mental gymnastics involved, given that all of this is not in the Bible…
