Well… I guess we all thought this was coming. Since they ruled out “nationalizing” the banks, the strategy shifted to buying the bad debt, at a value that would make the banks’ books look positive again.

The question will become, what does the Gov’t do with the bad debt… Plans go awry, and I’m afraid that the actual assets involved with the bad debt sit there and rot.
