Yep. I’m waiting for an android (or just straight up linux) pad in the right price range before I take the plunge. For now, my laptop will do fine. I love the design concept of a tablet, but I find the “walled garden” approach to computing to be extremely irritating, if not outright offensive.

And that’s one reason I stay away from Apple. I can only get programs for my device through their store, with them deciding what’s acceptable and what’s not? No thanks.

Also, when it comes to phones and pads, the soul-sucking carriers do a lot to restrict us too.
