re: #39 calochortus

My question is: If mainstream moderate to conservative Christians are made aware of this group of wackos and the full scope of their beliefs, will they support one of the Dominionist-approved candidates? Or will it put them off?

I would think they would support, because 1- they are too conformist not to, and more importantly, 2- they always have, and have allowed these “wackos” to thrive and flourish.

Look at their reaction to Glenn Beck, who is every bit as whacko, with equally whackjob theological beliefs.

So-called “dominionism” may be in the news this week, but it bears little difference from the Christian Coalition (90s-00s) and Moral Majority (late 70s-80s) that came before it. Same people, next generation, different name.

People keep missing this about Perry and that stupid The Response overgrown prayer meeting of his — it’s main sponsor was the American Family Association, which generates a lot of laughs because of Bryan Fischer. But the AFA has been around since the late 70s and was something of a predecessor, along with a bunch of others like Eagle Forum, and conservative televangelists dissemenating these ideas, to the Moral Majority.

Nobody is going to care about the so-called “dominionists” except those of us they have been trying to axe from the populace for the past generation; in fact, I expect other conservative Christians to hide behind their momentum and let them shoulder the work.
