re: #133 Backwoods_Sleuth

I’m surprised that rice wasn’t included as a “safe” ingredient.
When one of my dogs came down with parvo (a week after getting his shot for that) boiled rice and lamb was my vet’s recommendation to ease the dog back to solid foods.

Me too - but he did say no ‘grains’ so i’m guessing they’re going to full limit. As in reduce to two minimally sustaining elements and wait to see if symptoms continue. if they do, substitute X for A (Rice for Oats, for example) and continue. Once the dog’s symptoms stop, start adding things one item per week. If symptoms show up, stop last and wait a week to ensure it’s not something else.

Oh - a recently learned lesson is that if you’re giving the dog rice, give it brown if at all possible for a multitude of health reasons.
