Sessions made one decision that matters and the consequences of it are why Trump rages nonstop.

Sessions recused himself because he’s directly involved in the Russia-Trump investigation as a potential target.

That’s why Trump rages against the machine. It’s why Trump dumps on Sessions at every turn and tries to interfere in the ongoing investigations.

Sessions does just enough to deflect this, but Sessions hasn’t smacked Trump down either. He hasn’t outright told Trump to stop interfering in ongoing investigations and that doing so puts him in legal jeopardy (though WH counsel and Trump’s personal lawyer-idiots in Rudy and Co., should be the ones telling him this since USAG isn’t Trump’s personal lawyer, but the top lawyer for the Department of Justice).

So we’re in the precarious situation where Sessions does just enough to muddle through, Trump continues to attack the DOJ and FBI, and Mueller keeps doing his thing, which is rack up indictments, guilty pleas, and convictions.
