The atrocities they committed were beyond any sense of reason. I can’t read too much about it, it’s horrifying and unfortunately not as well known as the Nazi’s.

I have no problem with the bomb being dropped on Japan. People really don’t have an accurate understanding of why it was done.

Hell, lots of Americans still don’t understand why it was done. I see CNN comments all the time asserting that we “nuked civilian areas of no military value to show we could”, not knowing the Hiroshima was a Japanese area army HQ and the Fat Man bomb at Nagasaki was aimed at a Mitsubishi torpedo factory (an entirely military target liable to destruction without warning). The fault lay with Japan for putting military installations and military production facilities in areas populated by civilians.
