What kind of a society enriches a complete waste to that society like Ann Coulter? She should be an ignored outcast. But, here we are…a celebration of the awful for too many that give her a hateful voice and platforms to express it.

Back in the day, demagogues weren’t allowed to run unchecked. For example, Father Coughlin en.wikipedia.org was finally suppressed when the Feds cut a deal with Coughlin’s bishop that included an episcopal order forbidding Coughlin from engaging in his political activities. Prior to that, the Feds instituted licensing requirements for radio stations, and were looking into revoking second class mail privileges for Coughlin’s printed material, both with the purpose of shutting Coughlin down.

Somehow these past infringements of the first amendment don’t fill me with a sense of injustice done.
