Is it remotely possible that many in the police officer field are mainly in it for the feeling of pure power and exceptionalism they have over common citizens?

Is it possible that their career path was never about “Serve and Protect” but instead to “Bully, Discriminate and Extort”? And when it finally comes down to actually doing their job of putting their own lives on the line in exchange for all this power and authority, they do nothing?

Nahhh… couldn’t be. Everyone knows that they are all “Good guys with guns”.
