Weren’t some of the emails classified after the fact? or ‘reclassified’?

They were. I seem to recall the facts were these:

1) She was a government employee at the time;
2) She had clearance;
3) The documents were classified after she already had them on the server;
4) She cooperated immediately and fully by turning over the entire physical server for them to go through;
5) Therefore, there was no harm done, and no charges laid.
