Name for me a generic classification of drug prescribed to men where a prescription from a doctor is not enough to prove “medical necessity” and they have to jump through hoops to show that it has a “medical purpose.”

I will note that even erectile dysfunction drugs do not get the same scrutiny as birth control, even though that’s all about enabling sexytimes.

To be fair, initial erectile dysfunction treatments sprang up (pun intended) from research into drugs meant to treat patients with heart conditions. Ironically, one of the first warnings you get now on commercials for any of those drugs is “Be sure you’re healthy enough for sex before taking this.”
