Sedona, Arizona was the best for that: you got some winter frosts and even the occasional dusting of snow but most of it was up on the hillsides where you could see it and smell it but did not have to shovel.

My wife wanted to move to Sedona after a visit to the area.

My response, after visiting the area with streams and countryside horse rides, folk in this area don’t have enough water. And what water is available is under the control of folk who can turn the water off.
