I’m thinking more along the lines of President Lyndon B Johnson and Vietnam.
I think LBJ was a great president in many regards. However, the Vietnam War is still there.
Can you see my concerns?
The Vietnam comparison isn’t really a good one. We drifted into Vietnam over a span of decades, so LBJ’s Vietnam problem was inherited to a significant degree. LBJ’s mistake was escalating it rather than ending it
Obama will not get us into another quagmire.
