On another note. Does anyone think it would be possible to identify an Army unit based on a patch or button. Found an old photo of my grandfather from his military service. We don’t have a clue what unit he was in or anything like that. Just that he was Army and was artillery not infantry.

There are numerous very friendly (i.e., non-political) veterans groups on facebook. If you have an account, post a pic on one of them. You’ll likely get an answer in less than 5 seconds.
