Yahoo!, June 12, 2024, Millions of US voters lack access to documents to prove citizenship

Every citizen in Germany (and in most other European countries) is required to carry an ID card. Foreigners get their own separate resident ID cards.

Every resident is also required to have a registered address, which is automatically registered as your voting address.

My daughter (a German citizen) gets a letter in the mail informing her of the upcoming election in six weeks, goes down to the local polling place (here the village hall, walking distance), shows her ID and gets her name crossed off the list.

America will never accept such a system due to outcry on both Right and Left, but it would solve a lot of issues in the simplest way.
