This remark presumes that “this guy” won’t accept the results of free elections. What if he’s cool with any result that free elections serve up? What if he’s just worried that we’ll have election fraud on a scale that would make Ahmadinejad or Karzai blush? The Democrats aren’t that hot on free elections, or they wouldn’t be pushing “card check” unionization. So it’s at least arguable that Democrats aren’t any friends of democracy, and that indeed eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.
