When my son asked me, he phrased it as a declarative. So, I told him the truth. I also told him that he had a very important big-boy responsibility… that if he meets any kid who believes in Santa, that the kid should still believe after he talks to them.

He never ruined it for anybody that I know of.

That’s the most mature way to handle it I’ve ever seen. Thanks very much for that; I’m going to use that myself.
