I understand where you are coming from…but Scalia wrote the horrific dissent to the Lawrence V Texas case and openly held GLBT people to be beneath the law. He was my enemy in a very real way. If it was up to him, I would be in jail and my child would be in foster care. I do not and will not forgive what he has tried to do to families like mine, and I will not speak well of him to assuage the feelings of others.

The best I can do is refrain from celebrating his death. I will never whitewash or mute my opinion of his odious body of work as a supreme court justice.
